Homework Policy

Pupils should be given regular homework. This should be carefully monitored, promptly marked and helpful feedback given. Pupils should be trained to complete homework on time and to the highest standard.

A substantial amount of homework will involve learning vocabulary/grammar by heart. The pupil workbooks are also an important means of consolidating classwork.

Pupils should be expected to have homework diaries on their desks at the beginning of each lesson. The routine of set days for homework can help pre-empt the problem of work not being done.

Homework should be issued in good time to ensure that all pupils are able to take a careful note in their homework diaries of what is to be done and when it is to be done for. Good work should be praised/rewarded.
