Pupil Support Department
Inclusion
“Inclusion is a process . . . It does represent a change in mindset and values for schools and for society because the underlying philosophy is one of catering for and celebrating diversity.”
[Peter Mittler (2000) Inclusive Education]
The priorities in our service are for Pupil Support Teachers to work closely with parents, carers and subject teachers to build inclusive practice. Our aim is to help develop varied approaches and materials to take account of diverse needs and learning styles, so that our pupils can achieve their full potential.
In addition, our team of Assistants give in-class support to pupils with additional support needs to help them access the curriculum and be fully included in class activities.
