Department News
The session has proved another successful year for our pupils studying chemistry; with pleasing results, especially at Standard Grade and Higher.
Evaluation and Target Setting by pupils on an individual basis have now been extended into the Higher Chemistry Course.
The restructuring of our S2 Chemistry course has this year been followed by a significant increase in the number of S3 pupils undertaking a Chemistry course leading to a certificate.
There have again been some changes to the members of the Chemistry Department. After many years service to the department and the school Mrs McKechnie has retired. Her place has been taken by Ms Barbour.
Chemistry Room 6 has been returned to the department and is being kitted out, partly with a view to being a location for Advanced Higher practicals and investigations.
The Chemistry Department continues to work successfully as a team putting the interests of our pupils first and foremost. We look forward to seeing more pupils passing through our department and enjoying their time spent studying chemistry.
