Homework Policy

Homework plays a vital role in supporting pupil learning in Physics. It is a means of developing good work habits, consolidating coursework and should lead towards skills in organisation. This should raise self esteem and self-confidence.

There are two general classes of homework.

Informal - where pupils are required to

  • read over work completed in class
  • catch up on work not completed in class through absence or too slow a pace during a lesson
  • complete further work of consolidation

This would normally be required to be done over a short time scale of one or two evenings.

Formal - where pupils submit written work.

The class teacher will normally mark this work but peer marking may also be done. Normally pupils are given one week to complete this type of homework. It is important that pupils give attention to proper presentation of this homework.
