Homework Policy

In S2 pupils will be introduced to homework. The questions/research may be short and relevant to the classroom work of the moment. Pupils may be asked to acquire materials/resources and facts pertaining to specific units of work.

SIII/IV - Homework will become more necessary as an extension or revision of work done in the classroom. Homework is differentiated according to S G level and is built into each unit of work to reinforce work done in the classroom.

SV/6 - In the new higher course, pupils will be expected to complete a large amount of work at home on a daily basis, just to enable them to complete the course, therefore homework is an integral part of the course.

All homework is expected to be handed in on time with pupils in SIV/V taking responsibility for this matter.

5/6 - Modular/Cluster courses - Log books must be updated in event of absences.

Pupils may be required to complete a small piece of investigative work as part of their course.

5/6 - Hospitality - Pupils are required to keep log books up to date and work must be handed in by a given date. Pupils must carry out own research for Foods of the World project. Teacher is only a facilitator. Staff should note any pupil unwillingness to complete homework, and information via the guidance staff should be sent to parents/guardians advising them of our concerns.
