School Meals

The dining hall is open for hot and cold snacks at interval for the pupils. The school promotes healthy eating.

Lunches are provided in a cafeteria. Pupils are provided with a wide selection of food ranging from a snack to a full three-course meal. There are also drinks, sandwiches, cakes and buns available. Each item is individually priced.

Pupils requiring a special diet, for example gluten free, can be catered for by special arrangement with the kitchen supervisor.

Pupils who would prefer to take a packed lunch to school are given the opportunity to consume it in the dining hall.

In the dining hall all pupils are expected to queue for lunch. Pupils are expected to clear away all dishes and cutlery at the end of their meal leaving the table in a suitable state for the next pupil who may use it.

The school operates a cashless dining hall. Pupils are issued with a dining card which they use to put money into a cash machine in their House area. This money is credited to their account and when they purchase food in the dining hall the cost of food is taken off their account. Pupils are responsible for looking after their card and they are advised to regularly pay into their account. Pupils have to pay for replacement dining cards.

A grab a bag scheme also operates for those pupils who need a quick lunch. A selection of items can be pre-ordered at interval of the same day and collected at a dedicated counter at lunchtime.
