The Pupil Support Structure

The school is currently reviewing Pupil Support provision. Parents and pupils will be apprised of all developments in this area as changes impact on the service.

At Queen Anne High School we believe that all young people should receive a progressive education appropriate to their age, stage, abilities and aptitudes which is provided in an environment where they are valued and safe.

The school has six Houses:

  • Abbey
  • Bruce
  • Carnegie
  • Denmark
  • Erskine
  • Fordell

When pupils arrive in Queen Anne High School they will have access to members of staff who can help them settle into the school and who can help them deal with personal, social, emotional, curricular and vocational issues as they arise. Pupils are encouraged to ask their Pupil Support Teacher/key worker for advice and assistance. Pupils are encouraged to take difficulties or personal problems to their House Team or indeed to the rector in serious cases.

At Queen Anne High School every effort is made to place pupils from the same family in the same House. As far as possible pupils remain with the same Pupil Support Teacher throughout their time at school. This arrangement helps parents/guardians and pupils to get to know their Pupil Support Teacher well.

We try to ensure that pupils from S1 to S4 receive Personal and Social Education (PSE) on a weekly basis. Pupils in S5 and S6 will receive PSE through a combination of taught classes and visiting speakers. Mr Powrie (Principal Teacher of Guidance) is responsible for the PSE programme.

If you have any concerns about the progress your child is making at the school or you feel your child is having a personal/social problem please do not hesitate to contact the school to make an appointment to meet with a member of the Pupil Support team.

If staff have concerns or issues that they would wish to bring to your attention Pupil Support staff or a member of the House team will contact you.
